Government ePlan Review Workflow for Plan Reviewers
Learn how to complete a Government ePlan Review Workflow using Bluebeam as a plan reviewer
When individuals or organizations require a building permit from the local government, they typically need to submit construction plans that will be reviewed by people within the government to ensure they meet local building codes and ordinances. In the past, the entire process relied on paper drawings. Applicants would submit multiple sets of drawings which would then be sent to different departments to manually review and mark up by hand.
Bluebeam helps simplify and shorten the review process. Instead of submitting multiple paper copies of drawings that must be passed between multiple review departments, applicants only need to submit one digital set of plans which all reviewers will work from using Studio Sessions. Reviewers can work simultaneously within the same drawings to speed up the process and streamline the path to permit approval or resubmittal.
In this series of courses, we will guide you through the process of seamlessly integrating a digital plan review process into your permitting workflow. We’ll show you step by step what needs to be done and by whom, as well as the best practices for completing the review in a timely manner.
This workflow works for both simple and complex plan reviews and can be adapted to your specific needs.
While many local governments employ integrations such as Energov as part of their review process, this path will focus on a non-integrated workflow that can be adapted to the software and applications used by your municipality.
